Hindu Supremacy in power puts the “authority” of Prime Minister Modi as its greatest (or essential) political asset. Often referred to as a rishi (Hindu sage), his spiritual “authority” is based on the supremacy of the nation (Hindu rashtra) as an organic sovereign entity that transcends individual rights and constitutional principles. This essentialist understanding of “nation” lies at the heart of the fundamental tenets of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS). Modi’s ideological umbilical cord with the RSS is too manifest to miss. His doctrine, which extolls communal duties over individual rights, is also in congruence with his economic governance. While neoliberal competition and self-responsibility are emphasized, his welfarist policies, including poverty alleviation, instead of ensuring fundamental rights, reflect strongly authoritarian and patriarchal characteristics in which patronage from above and a sense of benevolence are evoked.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_14_geolocation_18":{"attribute_name":"地域/国名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_geolocation_place":[{"subitem_geolocation_place_text":"India"}]}]},"item_14_publisher_7":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Institute of Developing Economies (IDE-JETRO)"}]},"item_14_rights_5":{"attribute_name":"権利","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_rights":"Copyrights 2023 by author(s)"}]},"item_14_version_type_15":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Sato, Hiroshi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"63514","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2023-06-01"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"IDP000900_001.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"933.7 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"Full-text PDF","url":"https://ir.ide.go.jp/record/53783/files/IDP000900_001.pdf"},"version_id":"fe16535c-11f5-4077-b8a4-947d4225dd40"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Hindu supremacy","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Hindutva","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"authoritarianism","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"politics of rights","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"competition state","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Modi government","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Hinduism","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Internal politics","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"technical report","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_18gh"}]},"item_title":"“Sickular” and “Povertarian”: Politics and Economics of Hindu Supremacy, 1992–2022","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"“Sickular” and “Povertarian”: Politics and Economics of Hindu Supremacy, 1992–2022"}]},"item_type_id":"14","owner":"3","path":["5564"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2023-06-01"},"publish_date":"2023-06-01","publish_status":"0","recid":"53783","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["“Sickular” and “Povertarian”: Politics and Economics of Hindu Supremacy, 1992–2022"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":3},"updated":"2023-07-27T13:44:46.131709+00:00"}
